Welcome to the Unmanned System Lab (USL)
This website provides information on our current projects, who we are, our publications, and other general information. We specialize in designing low cost, small unmanned vehicles using off-the-shelf components in all of our equipment. USL is a research team at the University of Denver consisting of two professors and over 12 graduate students incorporating specialties from computer, mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic engineering and computer science. Current designs focus on small electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles (VTOLs), small electric unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), fixed-wing aircraft and unmanned underwater vehicles. All design work, integration, assembly, and testing is performed in-house using best- practices and state-of-the-art technologies.
